During the past month, the staff of CleanupDirectory.com has worked tirelessly to increase the exposure and reach of our directory. Thus far, we have successfully uploaded individual, highly optimized industry specific websites to over 120 cities throughout eleven states. Although many of these websites now claim the top three SERP rankings in Google for keyword terms such as: blood cleanup, hoarding cleanup and death cleaning, we still have many more weeks of work ahead of us.
Although the initial success of our new advertising campaign has been overwhelming, we understand that top search engine placement takes time and patients. Of the 120 cities targeted to date, more than half of them now display CleanupDirectory.com at the top of Google for most industry keyword searches. As a result, traffic to our directory is increasing on a weekly basis.
In addition to direct traffic to your listing page and subsequent traffic to your company website, our members now enjoy regular “Service Request” emails. Although these emails have been sporadic, we anticipate a marked increase in calls for assistance as our directory reaches more markets. These emails, similar to the ones you’ve already received, will include all of the contact information as we receive it from the client. Just the other day a member contacted us at CleanupDirectory.com. He was concerned that he wasn’t getting the $8.25 a month worth of service he paid for ($99 divided by 12 months). More specifically, he said he wasn’t getting very much business from CleanupDirectory.com. We told him we would look into his concern and get back to him.
It took only a few minutes to discover the root of his concern. In viewing his directory listing, we counted a total of 68 words. There were no photos, no sales literature and his “short description” used for the sidebar throughout the directory was only a single sentence long. As we continue to work with our customers, especially those who service larger markets like New York City and Chicago, we can’t stress enough the importance of 1st page Google rankings. Granted, 1st page rankings in other search engines are important, however Google still remains the king of searches.
When conducting a search for New York City crime scene cleanup or Chicago crime scene cleanup, one will find many out-of-state companies listed in the top ten search results. Some of the larger locally owned companies often don’t appear until page two or three of Google. Shouldn’t the companies that can respond in a timely fashion, and often at a less expensive rate, be listed first for a local search such as New York City crime scene cleanup? 
We all know that search engines don’t always provide us with the most reasonable choices. For a crime scene cleanup company in California could easy find themselves listed at the top of a search for crime scene cleanup in New York.
